My Story
I spent my youth in a small town called Iwakuni, Japan (famously known for their "Kintai Bridge"). My father was stationed at MCAS (Marine Corps Air Station) Iwakuni, which is a short train ride way from Miyajima and Hiroshima.
My mother was from Kyoto, so I was very fortunate to spend many summers there. Since then, having made numerous trips back to Japan, I have been able to collect "Kimono" and "Obi" from vintage shops throughout Japan. My favorite places to shop are Kyoto and Nara.
Several years ago I decided to create a line of Japanese inspired bags. Some of these collections are made with vintage fabrics and others are made from Asian inspired print fabrics that I feel bring out the art and beauty of such a wonderful country. I feel each in itself is a unique creation.
Some things I have in my "Fun Collection" that are not Asian at all, I just fell in love with the fabrics! My retro tote bags is a very popular item.
I hope you enjoy my collections as much as i have enjoyed making them!
